Today’s post is a far less premeditated post than most you’ll find here. I’m writing this on Friday evening as I started a mini-vacation with my wife today.
There were a few things (unnecessary details) that weren’t in alignment with what we know we like in a vacation. This was mid-day.
We didn’t ignore them … we took the actions we needed to hope they could come into alignment with what we prefer on a vacation — and then let the world around us breathe. Being patient.
While taking the time to let those other things figure out if they were going to fall into alignment - it was nice to be present with what we were doing.
We met a new friend who was a stranger to us at the beginning of today.
We ate lunch and had a dessert.
We chose to let it breathe.
Come 4pm, all but one item came into focus the way we had hoped, and the remaining item was a ‘gravy item’. Even if all items hadn’t come to fruition, it was nice to appreciate the present - and to be ready to accept whatever outcome we were handed.
So… hopefully the next time you face a situation where you may not have what you ‘wanted’ or what you ‘expected’… you can find a way to appreciate what you do have… and be patient.
…
This is a shorter post than normal - as it’s time to spend more time with the wife.
Be well until Wednesday!
